Food & beverage at full speed in Spa-Francorchamps

More than 100,000 visitors per day, a vast circuit and over 300 operational units: during the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps, food & beverage operations need to perform at scale while remaining close to the visitor. From sales and cooling to logistics and recycling, every part of the operation needs to work together.

Food & beverage at full speed in Spa-Francorchamps

The Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps is not only a highlight for motorsport fans. For food & beverage operations, it is equally a top-tier event. More than 100,000 visitors per day are spread across a particularly large site, while food and drinks need to remain easily accessible throughout the circuit.

An exceptionally large and extensive site

The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps presents very different challenges from a compact event site. Visitors move across long distances between grandstands, public areas and different parts of the circuit. A centralised offering is therefore not enough: food & beverage needs to be distributed across the site and aligned with visitor flows.

To make that possible, more than 300 operational units are deployed. These include not only sales points, but also supporting units for cooling, storage, logistics and recycling. Together, they form the infrastructure required to keep the entire food & beverage operation running.

Hundreds of units, one operational system

The scale of the event is not only defined by visitor numbers, but also by everything required to keep hundreds of units operational at the same time. Products, infrastructure, supplies and staff all need to be available at the right place and at the right moment.

On a site of this size, distance is a key operational factor. A sales point that runs out of stock cannot always be replenished quickly from one central location. Thorough preparation, a clear division of the site and a well-planned logistics operation are therefore essential throughout the entire race weekend.

Variety close to the visitor

At these visitor volumes, capacity alone is not enough. A sufficiently varied food & beverage offering also needs to be distributed across the site. Visitors should be able to find food and drinks in multiple locations without having to travel long distances or converge on the same sales points.

Combining a broad offering with a large number of sales points helps distribute visitor flows. At the same time, that level of variety requires an organisation that maintains a clear overview of products, locations and replenishment.

Preparation that makes scale manageable

An event of this size is not organised during the race weekend itself. The foundation is laid in advance: dividing the site, defining sales points and supporting units, assigning assortments, planning infrastructure and preparing replenishment.

During the event, all of these elements come together. Bevers supports the operation as one integrated system, ensuring that sales, cooling, logistics, recycling and other operational functions do not operate as isolated components, but as part of one coordinated food & beverage organisation.

Spa-Francorchamps demonstrates what operating at scale really means to us: not simply adding more sales points, but ensuring that hundreds of operational units across a vast site function as one system.
